The Olympic Peninsula has some of the finest and least known saltwater fly fishing in the country. Hard-fighting salmon and sea-run cutthroat trout cruise the beaches in search of food.

These fish are aggressive, quick to take a fly, and when hooked, put up an impressive fight.

Summer Steelhead/Trout

  2 guests $250
There are days when these are purely steelhead trips, that is the steelhead are cooperating and the trout are not. There are days when nice sea-run or resident rainbows are rising freely and the steelhead are completely absent. There are days when on any cast you might take a salmon steel head or trout. For anglers who are content to gamble a little on the river's moods these are sure to be productive and enjoyable trips. Those with their hearts set on landing a summer run should be comfortable making 65 foot casts all day, if you are not see casting lessons.)

Beach fishing

6 hours 2 guests $150
The Puget Sound offers a unique opportunity to fly fish from the beach for both cutthroat trout and Coho salmon. Our guides will lead you to the most productive beaches at the best tides and help you catch the fish you find there. These trips run about six hours, some tackle provided.

Trout Fishing

The Olympic Peninsula has three distinct types of trout fishing, sea run fishing in the bays and estuaries, sea run fishing in the streams and rivers and fishing for resident trout in lakes and streams. Here is a run down of the trips we offer for each.

Sea Runs in the salt

Fly-fishing for sea run cutthroat in the salt water is unquestionable some of the most productive trout fishing we have. Good casters regularly catch a dozen or more trout from 14 to seventeen inches, larger trout and the occasional Coho salmon also can be expected on a daily basis.

Fly casters new to the sport can expect to catch a few good trout and get a look at plenty more. These fish often respond very well to dry flies and poppers, making this a very visual and exciting fishery .

All gear and a great lunch is included on full day skiff trips.

$350.00 for two guests

Sea Runs in the rivers

A sunny summer drift trip down a beautiful rain forest river is not something to be forgotten. Throw in good numbers of trout in the nine to sixteen inch range and the occasional summer steelhead and you have a pretty typical cutthroat float.

This fishing comes at a relaxed and un-crowded pace; anglers expecting really productive days however must have strong casting and mending skills.

Full day float with gear and lunch.
$250.00 for two guests.

Resident trout fishing

O.K. this is what most people think of when they think of fly-fishing for trout. Fast freestone streams, dry flies and native rainbows. Our resident trout fishing is not as productive as the sea-run cutthroat fishing, but it can be quite good in the mid to late summer.

The rainbows we catch here are wild fat healthy fish that often have never felt a hook, they are usually under 14 inches but are strong and crazy fighters.

Lunch and gear provided
Drift or wade trips
$250.00 for two guests

Fly fishing for winter steelhead is hard. The weather can be terrible, and you can go days between bites. It may be the most challenging fly-fishing in the world. Long casts and difficult mending techniques are standard. Winter steelheading is the number one passion of our guides. We want help you catch fish and show you what we love about this fishery. Here are some of the basic techniques we use.

Spey Casting

Traditionally winter steelheading means swinging a wet fly. The most satisfying and effective way to do this is with a spey rod. If you are not already a spey caster we will get you going in the right direction. In about a half a day you can learn to increase your effectiveness on a steelhead river tenfold, These are our favorite trips to run, the quality of the experience is unparalleled. Anglers should consider booking multiple days to increase your chance of hooking a fish (remember, this is the hardest way to do it.)

Nymph fishing

Two flies, a strike indicator, and good casting skills add up to the easiest way to catch a steelhead on a fly rod. These trips are generally fast paced; we cover tons of water looking for willing fish. Nymph fishing does not offer the same relaxing poetry of motion that spey casting does, but it is almost always more effective.
